Towering at the south entrance of Innsbruck stands the Bergisel Skijump. A sport events location aswell as a new visitors attraction. The funicular and the tower elevator comfortably take you up to the Bergisel Panorama Restaurant from where you will enjoy “THE VIEW” over the city and its mountains above.

THE ASCENT

The athletic visitor can manage the 455 steps from the entrance to the top of the tower on foot. More comfortable and faster is the new modern funicular. It moves up to 350 people per hour and covers the distance in about 2 minutes. At the tower visitors take the elevator to the top.

THE TOWER

Bergisel Schanze im Sommer The foundation platform measures 16 by 20 meters. The upper three lower floors contain technical equipment, storage and staff offices and the entrance level. the visitors elevator reaches the terrace level at about 43.5 meters.
THE TOWER HEAD: The three floor steel constructed tower head with restaurant, panorama platform and rescue area reaches up to 12 meters beyond the tower shaft.

THE IN-RUN

In the first design of the project it was planned to support the 4 fielded in-run with three pillars. The final construction was executed without pillar support. The solution was the construction of the “fish belly” . 68.5 meters steel and steel wire with an inclination of up to 35 degrees. It actually removes the stress from the in-run itself.

THE PANORAMA-RESTAURANT

40 meters above ground crowning the tower is the Bergisel Panorama- Restaurant.
From the panorama platform you will enjoy the 360° view over the Inn Valley and the alps around the Tyrolean capital.

The arena and the restaurant “Café im Turm” are open daily during business hours . The menu includes a variety from coffee and cake to Austrian and international dishes. The restaurant can be rented from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. with catering services for special evening events for groups.
